Pressure Index Launched. Longer-Term Forecasting Coming Next.

Updated: 36 minutes ago
A Clearer View of Salmon Market Pressure
Where is supply pressure building - and are salmon prices high or low relative to market volume? The new Pressure Index in Imarex Salmon is designed to answer both questions quickly.

New in Salmon: The Pressure Index
We have launched a new Pressure Index inside Imarex Salmon.
It gives users two fast market signals:
Biomass Capacity - How much of the permitted biomass capacity is currently used in each production area
Relative Export Price - Whether fresh or frozen salmon appears expensive or cheap relative to export volume
The biomass index shows where supply pressure may be building by tracking capacity use, headroom and expected biomass.
The export price index shows whether salmon is priced unusually high or low relative to export volume.
Less time digging through data. Faster understanding of supply and price pressure.
Pricing Expected to Move Higher
After a 2.9% decline in week 24, the Imarex Salmon model now points to higher salmon prices over the coming weeks.
The latest forecast indicates:
Week 25: NOK 70.05/kg
Week 26: NOK 73.09/kg
Week 27: NOK 71.08/kg
The model assigns a 74-81% probability of prices moving above the latest reported level of NOK 66.26/kg.
The strongest increase is currently expected in week 26, followed by a slight easing in week 27.

Coming Soon
We listen closely to our customers and continue to develop Salmon around the decisions they need to make.
Following the launch of the new Pressure Index, our next major release will be a longer-term salmon price forecast covering the next 3-6 months.
The aim is to give users a clearer forward view for purchasing, sales and planning decisions.
More details coming soon.
